Carl A. Myers was born and raised on a farm where he learned to take broken things and fix them. While in the Air Force, during World War II, he fixed air planes to make them run again. After the war, he returned to Logansport to repair motors for Tweedie Electric. In 1947, he purchased the business and proudly answered to “Mr. Tweedie”. The business was located in downtown Logansport. As the business grew, there were several new locations. In the 1980’s, he moved to the current location at 110 Burlington Avenue which had a larger parking lot, storage for motors and belts, and plenty of room for making motor repairs.
This was also the time that his grandson could be in the shop legally. So, Carl M. Binney learned from his grandpa. Customers started calling the grandson, “Little Carl”.
Little Carl grew in size and knowledge. And, as of June 2017, he now owns the shop. Today’s world thinks many things should be made, used for a short time, then trashed. However, sometimes, because of cost, size, or performance, motors can be fixed. Little Carl learned well from his grandfather.
So, if it doesn’t work, “come see us”!
